Located in Kampung Sungai Penchala, the house is a 3 storey bungalow designed for our client and his family to be used as their permanent home. The initial plot of land was elevated from road by at least one storey. We used this to our advantage by excavating land only for the driveway. The structure is embedded into the site. The spaces were planned based on user activity to limit the need of travelling between levels as per client’s brief. Our design focused more on crafting spaces based on our client’s present lifestyle as well as when they’re advanced in age. We also proposed several passive strategies to naturally cool spaces as well as harvest rain water for secondary usage.
