I am Jarren Foong Weng Houng and I am currently now doing a my degree in architecture at Taylors University Lakeside Campus in Subang. I enrolled in March 2018 after finishing FNBE (Foundation In Natural and Built Environment) in 2017. Since young, I have always been passionate about architecture and drawing. I started teaching myself drawing at the age of 10. At the age of 12, I continued this passion by designing buildings and houses on the computer after being thought how to use Google Sketch Up by my cousin who is now an architect. After obtaining my SPM results in the year 2016, I continued my tertiary studies in Methodist College Kuala Lumpur. I was doing an Australian based syllabus called AUSMAT. However during my second semester in MCKL, I questioned whether is the course that I really want to continue pursuing. Knowing my interest for architecture was still burning in me, I decided to pursue my passion by joining FNBE in 2017 despite the tons of people discouraging me. Yes, the journey along this path is long and dreadful and it drains me physically and emotionally, but I just grit my teeth and go through this knowing that my hard work will pay off when I sign off my first building.
